On December 4, 2025, Alfaisal University’s College of Medicine hosted the 13th Annual Health Promotion Project (HPP) Exhibition, an academic event demonstrating the university’s ongoing commitment to community health education and future-focused medical training. This year’s theme, Back to the Future - A Healthy Saudi 2040, enabled first-year medical students to explore current and emerging health challenges through scientifically grounded and creatively developed booths.
The exhibition was held under the leadership and support of Dr. Khaled Al-Kattan, Dean of the College of Medicine, whose continued guidance reinforces the College’s strategic focus on innovation, experiential learning, and public health advancement.
Organized by the Department of Family & Community Medicine (AU-DFCM), the exhibition aligns with national objectives under Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, particularly those related to preventive health, digital transformation, and strengthening community resilience. It also supports international frameworks focused on population health and evidence-informed healthcare delivery.
Under the leadership of Vice Dean and Department Chair, Dr. Baraa Alghalyini, extensive mentorship by Dr. Abdul Rehman Zia Zaidi, and coordination by Dr. Racha Khaled with support from teaching assistants, and administrative teams, first-year medical students presented more than 50 interactive booths. Students addressed topics spanning epidemiology, digital health, preventive medicine, behavioral health, risk mitigation, and social determinants of health, translating complex concepts into accessible educational experiences.
The exhibition attracted a wide audience from across the community and the university including faculty members, students, alumni, and healthcare professionals. This year’s structure highlighted experiential learning, offering students opportunities to apply foundational concepts to real-world challenges while strengthening critical thinking, teamwork, and public communication.
A panel of distinguished judges representing key sectors in healthcare, public health, policy, and innovation evaluated the student projects. Their participation enriched the academic experience and strengthened relationships between Alfaisal’s emerging medical professionals and senior leaders across the healthcare ecosystem.
The event served as a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange and interdisciplinary collaboration, bringing together stakeholders from healthcare, education, wellness, research, and community service sectors. The continued success of the Health Promotion Project reflects Alfaisal University’s commitment to innovative medical education, leadership development, and public health promotion. The Department of Family and Community Medicine at Alfaisal University proudly hosted the 13th Health Promotion Project (HPP) Award Ceremony, celebrating the achievements of first-year medical students who demonstrated distinction throughout this year’s Health Promotion Project.
The ceremony marked the culmination of a semester-long, structured experiential learning journey in which students engaged with future-oriented public health challenges. Student teams were recognized for work that demonstrated academic depth, originality, and clear relevance to real-world health needs, following rigorous evaluation by a panel of distinguished judges representing healthcare, public health, policy, and innovation sectors.

12th Annual Health Promotion Project (HPP) – 2024
Theme: Harmony in Healthcare: A Culture of Patient Safety
The 12th HPP Exhibition was the largest yet, bringing together over 550 first-year medical students to explore patient safety and preventive medicine. Organized by the Family & Community Medicine Department, the event featured 50 student-led interactive booths on topics like antimicrobial stewardship, AI in healthcare, and 3D bioprinting.
Held at Alfaisal University, the exhibition welcomed faculty, healthcare professionals, families, and local high school students, creating a vibrant, community-focused learning environment. Students competed in four judged categories, presented research-driven projects, and networked with national healthcare leaders.
