Dr. AbdulKarim S. AlMakadma completed his academic years in the medical school with distinction, and internship at Tanta University hospitals to be a fully licensed physician where he worked as general practitioner in Jerusalem, Palestine
He got the Diploma of Child Health from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Dublin Ireland. He finished the four years Pediatric Residency training program at one of the big hospitals Hospital in Riyadh and has been certified by the Jordanian board of Pediatrics as well as the Arab Board of Pediatrics. He was trained at IWK Health Center in Dalhousie University in Canada and has been certified in Adolescent Medicine and General Pediatrics training. At that time he passed the Medical Council of Canada requirements and and upon that was granted a "Defined License" from the Royal College of Nova Scotia. While in Canada, he also obtained a Diploma with highest honors in Child Psychology from ICS in Canada.
Because of his beliefs in education, he worked hard to be enrolled in a joint master program where finally he managed to get a Masters of Health Professions Education from Maastricht University, Netherlands.
Today, Dr. AbdulKarim Said AlMakadma is certified by "Who's Who in the world" 2010 and a recognized by "Who's who In Asia" 2012 as the founder of the Adolescents Medicine in Saudi Arabia and the chairman of the Adolescent Medicine and General Pediatrics department at the Children's Hospital, King Fahad Medical City in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He was the Head of the Joint commission International Accreditation (JCIA) team in the hospital where he works, besides heading many of the core committees in KFMC. He, with the support of the hospital administration, established the biggest Core Clinical Teaching Unit for pediatrics training Unit in the area.
He is the author of few books in the health field, both in English and Arabic. He has published many articles in numerous of the highly ranked international journals, also he is a recognized reviewer for Elsevier journals specially the journal of Adolescent Health. He is active in the fields of health professionals' education, clinical medical research as well as relief and humanitarian work, where his last participation was when he travelled to Somalia heading a medical team to help the refugees there.
On March 2014 he was granted the Regional Chapter Award by the American society of Adolescent Health and Medicine (SAHM) during the last international meeting in Austin-Texas. This award was granted to him because of his unique work in the field of Adolescent medicine. This was the first time this award was given to someone from outside North America.
Recently he decided to pursue his career in the academic field, because of that he has moved to Alfaisal University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he was appointed as the head of the Pediatrics and clinical medicine department as well as the clinical phase director.
